‘Dark Night of the Soul’ is an unrefined rumination on existential crises: Those that dim the light and extract oxygen from the air of enthusiasm and motivation. The dark, yet witty lyrical content is sonically juxtaposed against the upbeat musical frame; a cross between country and punk, fueled with harmonica riffs and distorted guitars. Dark Night of the Soul reminds us that on these dark nights, existential questions are ‘veils we wear, and know so well’, perpetually waiting at our doorsteps to visit again, even after they've departed.
